Excited To Get My Own Golf Drivers

September 26, 2012

This summer was a real exciting one for me. We did so many important things like, find a new house, move and visit family. One other exciting thing was that my husband, Doug taught me how to play golf for the first time. Over the last few years I have played putt putt golf with Doug, and his sisters but this year was the first time I actually played golf.

I found the sport very challenging but at the same time a lot of fun and since we walked a good little work out. One thing I did find out for sure is I need my own golf clubs to continue to play. I am less then five feet tall and borrowing clubs for my stature is not the easiest as Doug, and all his friends have bigger clubs. I am excited to get my own golf drivers and other clubs soon.

Charles wants to be Captain America

I can't believed September is almost over. Well, I am really looking forward to the next few months. Halloween is just couple weeks away and Charles wants to dress up like, Captain America. I though really like his costume as Iron Man but Charles, keeps on insisting he wants Captain America. That's what he wants so we are going to get his costume sometime soon. Another thing we are looking forward to over the next few months is we are going to visit my husband's sister Connie, for Thanksgiving.

And Christmas is just a couple of weeks away so I am really excited. Charles is going to get a powered vehicle from all of his aunts for his Christmas present. Charles is very lucky to have all of his aunts and uncles. Oh I just remember I want my husband to drive us around maybe next week so we can see the trees. I love how the trees change color. They are so pretty and it always amazes me. I have never seen trees that changes its colors when I was in the Philippines so I really enjoy the Fall Season.

Cutting Edge Web Design

September 25, 2012

Whether you own a business locally or even a global one of the best way to increase your sales and profit margin is to have your own web site. This may sound crazy to you now, how can I have my own web site? This was the question I asked to myself when I began in the blogosphere. I had no idea what a web site was and how it should looked like. What designs and templates do I really want for my web site? As a blogger I really want to improve my template designs to increase my traffic online and so should you. Over the last few days I have begun checking out Cutting Edge Web Design Toronto. They have professional web page designers who are knowledgeable and understand every vision of what customers really wants for their web site. For me I really like the simplest web designs that are still yet attractive to look at and most of all easy to navigate for web browsers. Today millions of people shop everyday for entertainment, products, company, services that someone need all online. Matter of fact think about it even the yellow pages of the past are long gone for many. My husband says he has not even had yellow pages in his house since probably 2004 or so. That is nearing ten years and he does not miss them at all. It is just way more convenient to use your smart phone, computer or tablet to find businesses of all types. Many businesses even have online reviews available to read reviews from the customers. Customer satisfaction and referrals are one of the keys to any business success. So if you are interested in improving your business join the 21st Century and become a true online business make that an online business success.

Toronto T-Shirt Printing Services

September 24, 2012

I have always wanted to have customized shirts for my husband Doug, Charles and I. I think they are cute and a fun statement of who we really are. There are local T-shirt printing services here in town, though my husband, Doug and I, have not really checked them out yet. Being a Teacher and Head Wrestling Coach makes my husband so busy. We will probably just go ahead and order our shirts online. I am interested in using custom shirts toronto. They specialized in embroidery which I like most for my custom shirt.

Doug, prefers silk screen printing for comfort of his shirts. And Charles, well being only four he likes about anything we both like. If you are planning to have shirts customized you can check out toronto tshirt printing services. They have a group of talented professionals that will be able to outfit, yourself, your family, your business or your sports team.

Scholastic Printables

My husband Doug, is a high school teacher so he knows who excels and struggles in class. Well, today there are so many available resources to help your kid learn at home before and after school. Scholastic Printables are perfect for teachers, parents, kids, administrators and librarians. The 4th grade math worksheets are definitely perfect for my sister’s-in-law Connie who is a special education teacher, and Cheryl, who works as a librarian. Giving your kids the right education that they will need is the best thing a mother could ever give to your child. So make sure to check out the free sample of 4th grade math worksheets at home or in your own local school as well.

Holiday Seedless Grapes

My husband Doug, Charles, and I went to The Fresh Market to look at what the store has to offer. Well, I am really impressed of all the products that they have that I can’t see at Wal-Mart. Though the store products are very pricey we found something that we wanted to tried out. We got the Chicken Oscars, Chips, and for our dinner tonight a Rotisserie Chicken Meal. I loved the Holiday Seedless Grapes we got as well. They are big and very sweet. I’m sure Charles, is going to eat it.

Packaging Supplies

Over the last few months I have been collecting groceries so I can send it to my family back in the Philippines before Christmas. I am so glad I already have my packaging supplies that I need like anti-static foam. This will keep my package safer than ever. It is nice knowing I have breakable and valuable items inside the box that will be safe now. Keeping my package safe is very important especially on a very long destination like the Philippines.

September 22, 2012

Gardening is one of my passions as I love different types of flowers. Orchids are my mom and sister’s favorite flower and they always use compost for orchids to keep the plants healthy and to bloom lovely flowers. The scent of orchids are very soothing and the petals can be used for a relaxing bath.

Happy 4th Birthday Charles

September 21, 2012

It was Friday of September 19, 2008 my husband and I were driving on our way home after his doctor’s check-up. My knees were weak and I felt like I need to eat something sweet so I told my husband to buy 3 Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts. It was my last trimester of my pregnancy and I had no idea I was starting early labor at that time already. I stayed in bed the whole afternoon and my husband went back to school. The next day which is Saturday, I stayed in bed all day. At night my husband, and I decided to watch a movie Indiana Jones. At the theater I could feel when Charles kept on moving inside my stomach. The contractions weren’t painful so I wasn’t expecting Charles will come out anytime soon.

Of course when my husband, and I attended on the Lamaze Class it was different than what I had learned in the class. Besides my due date was September 29, and my OBGYN is going to induce me on September 28. Anyway, it was very early Sunday morning when I feel stronger contractions. My husband called the hospital. On our way to the hospital we aren‘t lucky hitting all the stop lights. It was round 9 o’clock in the morning when we arrived at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. A nurse took my vital signs and every thing was normal. I was already dilated of 5 cm so I was admitted on that day. Got my epidural and around 3:30 in the afternoon of September 21, 2008 a 6 lbs 10 oz 20 inches long our bundle of joy arrived in our lives.

It was the most precious moment when I saw and held Charles wrapped around in my arms. As a first time mom I was worried how I am going to put his clothes on? Charles skin was so smooth and so delicate I was so afraid to touch him at first. And now every thing is working great for me and being a mother to my 4 year old son, Charles. He is the greatest gift that we could ever have given to us and brings so much joy to our everyday lives. To my adorable son, Charles Happy Birthday and we love you so much!

Wreaths on Our Front Door

September 18, 2012

We had very nice weather today though it started to cool off when the sun went down. As I looked at the calendar I noticed the First Day of the Fall starts on September 22. Living here in the U. S. for almost 5 years I still don’t know all the holidays and dates. Since Fall is just few days away I am planning to decorate for the Fall, especially our door. I like having wreaths on our front door for the different seasons and holidays. I think it makes our door look pretty. We are also closing in on Halloween and Charles, has already said he wants to be a NASCAR driver. We did not have Halloween in the Philippines though I think it is a really fun holiday. Over all I agree with my husband who says fall is his favorite season of the year. We both agree that we like the leaves turning colors and football, he likes the cool weather better then me though.

How Solar Power Systems Work

September 14, 2012

I have a friend in California that is remodeling here house. Her husband and her have decided to not just change the appearance of their home but also make it more green or ecologically cleaner. They are many things they needed to learn one of which is to figure out how solar power systems work. They are interested in solar power as it does not just save on the electrical bills but also makes them way less dependent on others.

Having been raised in the Philippines where there is many brown outs, having a steady and independent source of power is a great thing. Julie, my friend lives in San Diego and got lucky to see commercials for a local solar company on her TV. Well they have found the right company and have the funds ready so within the next week they will have their solar power installed. Going off the electrical grid is a great alternative.

On Raising My Son, Charles

I am a first time mother and I never really thought I could raise my son, Charles and be a wife to my husband, Doug. I didn’t know any parenting skills when my husband and I got married, and got pregnant with Charles. Though it was easy on my pregnancy and giving birth on Charles. Thanks to my epidural it was pretty painless. As a mother I learned how to managed my time with Charles and doing household chores when my husband is not around. Yes I did it on my own but if we only lived closer to my husband’s sisters we can get plenty of help from them. My husband’s sisters, and their husbands, and family members are the nicest people that I have ever met. Though raising a kid here in the United States and the Philippines where I’m originally from is very different. In the Philippines, you can get a lot of help from your family, friends, and neighbors.

Here in the U.S. you can get a lot of help when you live closer to your family members or you can afford to hire a baby sitter. Well, we don’t have the luxury of hiring a baby sitter and I am not really comfortable hiring one either. I’d rather take care of my son and do things for him 24/7. I know for some mothers out there I know how they spend time reading on books and surf on the web learning how to raise a kid and other stuff online. As for me I haven’t read any book or read on the internet about how to raise a child. I learned how to take care of my son in every day situations. My husband is working 5 days a week and during wrestling season he has to travel for wrestling tournaments so many times I am alone with Charles and raising him.

Strategies for Teaching

September 12, 2012

My husband, Doug is a school teacher. Recently he started his new school year.  This summer he did a lot of research on how he could improve many aspects of his classroom. He was most interested in refining his teaching strategies for his class. Doug talks about how changes that are happening in education, especially something called the Common Core Standards and LCP. Doug says that these changes are leading many teachers to refine their their classes which means their is a need for teacher education. Doug is a history teacher but he has done much work on reading, writing and critical thinking skills.

The higher order thinking skills on Blooms is hit by many of the critical thinking skills strategies and teaching tools that he looked at from Mentoring Minds products. Doug was really impressed by how helpful the reading standards and strategy flip charts were for him to use and understand. Doug says there are many changes coming in public education and he wants to be prepared for them.

Free Pizza from Papa John's

September 9, 2012

Are you all enjoying watching your favorite football team? Its hard to watch when your team is loosing right? For tonight’s game Football is between the Denver Broncos, and Pittsburgh Steelers. My husband and I do like Peyton Manning but my husband hates the Broncos and the Steelers. It doesn’t matter to me when I watch the game or not as I have other shows to watch like Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and Real Housewives of New Jersey. Oh well, we had pizza for tonight’s dinner. My husband had earned rewards points for a free pizza from Papa John’s.

Web Copywriting

September 7, 2012

My husband has a good friend, Deak who is a published author. Years ago Deak sold a whole series of fantasy novels that had quite a bit of success.  Unfortunately though his series ran out of steam as a money maker for his publishers. Deak though had more to say in his story so he started using the web to publish more of his novels. Deak did not get rich on his web published books but he did find something that helped him make a move to live off his writing skills.

Deak began a business of working from his home doing various writing for people on the internet. He has been successful in many types of writing including Web Copywriting, Web Marketing and Resume’ Writing. Deak has retired from teaching and now lives comfortably and is his own boss. That would be great making a good living while setting your own hours and being your own boss.

My First Storm

I am originally from the Philippines so I am used to brownouts. It was 5 o’clock when our electricity went off. The rain was pouring hard. The thunder and lightning exchanges back and forth and it is quite scary for me. My husband checked on his iPhone about power outages and our area is on the list. This is my first time to have a real storm since we moved to Arkansas.  Let alone the electricity being off for so long. I realized we can’t cook any food or warm food on the stove. I am also worried on my shrimp that’s inside the freezer. I still have 4 packages of shrimp and I don’t want it to end up in the thrash can. Buying shrimp cost $4.99 per pound and it is difficult to find the fresh ones. Then our car is inside the garage. I don’t think we can open it without pressing the garage opener so we can buy our food out. Luckily, the electricity is back now.

New Scion FR-S

September 6, 2012

My husband, Doug, and I have been looking around for our next car. Though I still need to keep on practicing in driving our car and take the driving test so I can have my driver’s license. Over the last few weeks he test drove some of the cars that we are most likely to have for our next car. Of course it needs to be great or as close to as great as our BMW X5 is now. With so many car dealerships around us we have a lot of options.

I am really interested in Toyota, we can check out the new Scion FR-S hopefully over this weekend. I really like the interior design of the car and the wheel rims as well. Doug likes the aggressive and modern design of the car. Doug also appreciates how the car looks customized  without having to customize it. Now what color to get that is more of  an issue as Doug likes stripes and bold colors while I prefer red, black, and silver.

Crab with Spinach

September 4, 2012

I had a very good day today though I didn’t let my son Charles play outside today because it was way too hot. Our weather for the last two days has been extremely hot and muggy, and reached 100 degrees. Oh well today I cooked crab with spinach, ginger and coconut milk for lunch and it tasted so delicious. Anyway, tonight was the season premiere of Flipping Out, on Bravo and I loved it. During the commercials I saw they have a new show, Life After Top Chef and I am looking forward to watching the show in October. Bravo is by far my favorite channel to watch on television. I also love Food Network, NBC, CNBC, HGTV and CNN.

Cigar Lighters for Christmas Presents

Christmas is just a few months away and I have been browsing on the web looking for Christmas presents for my loved ones. For my father I’m sure he is going to love any new cigar lighters for his Christmas presents. He’s been wanting to have new lighters and I am glad I finally found one. It looks great and he can put it inside his pocket anywhere he goes.

Sleepless Nights

September 1, 2012

Wow last night was so irritating. I do not sleep very well any nights. Of course my husband, Doug and my son, Charles easily fall asleep and always sleep through the night. Me though I lay awake trying to find a way to make myself fall asleep.  Well last night like the night before I was kept awake all night by the crickets chirping outside in our back yard. I had no idea what a cricket was until Doug showed me a picture of one last night on his phone when we laid down in bed.  Doug said crickets are harmless and while I believe him they are not harmless to my nights sleep. We did not have crickets in the Philippines and I never really remember hearing them before this week. We had irritating night noises for sure, especially frogs and toads who croaked loudly when it rained. Of course since it rained the last couple of days maybe the crickets were just happy.
